Dramatic progress in in-vitro detection spurs new push for Ashkenazi Jews to do genetic disease test
Today tests are available for 19 Jewish genetic diseases, up from 11 just two years ago. Among the new conditions subject to in-vitro detection: familial dysautonomia, cystic fibrosis, Gaucher disease, Canavan disease and Niemann-Pick disease.
