Jesse Owens Dashed And Jumped To Gold Medals (Investor' Business Daily via Yahoo! News)

Born sharecropper's son in Oakville, Ala., Owens (1913-80) started picking cotton as a child. When he was 9 years old his family moved to Cleveland, where Owens took jobs loading trains, delivering groceries, watering plants in a greenhouse and repairing shoes.
